Bottling up feelings, distracting yourself, isolating, overfilling your schedule, using substances, seeking rescuing, people-pleasing, buying self-help books, taking medications - These are just a few of the ways we try to cope when life gets hard.

But, as a result of these efforts, have you become an expert at ignoring your gut feelings? Are you spinning your wheels? Have you learned to hide from yourself and go numb? Are you feeling more lost, tired, and stressed?

Our bodies and minds have evolved in harmony. They are so integrated that it is impossible to consider one without the other. Yet, when we have unpleasant emotions, we tend to turn away from ourselves. We run, fight, and hide from our thoughts and feelings.

I propose a different way: Tuning in. If you are aware of the constant changes in your inner and outer environment, you can manage them. If you can trust your inner sensations to give you accurate information, you will feel in charge of your body, your feelings, and your choices.

It’s not just about “getting in touch with your feelings.” It’s about identifying and changing your relationship with thoughts and feelings so they don’t have so much control of your life.

Video Therapy

During COVID, all sessions are being conducted via telehealth. I provide access to a secure video platform that keeps our conversations private.

After COVID, I will offer both in-office and video sessions.
